Welcome to San Diego’s premier Real Estate Blog

Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience while I got this blog up and running.  After an unsucessful attempt to produce this on Blogger, I decided that Word Press was better and so far so good.

Let me take a minute  to introduce myself and explain what my objectives are for this blog.

I am Kevin Bacon, Realtor with Century 21 Award. My office is located in La Mesa, Ca and I have been with Century 21 for almost 10 years. Real Estate is my true passion and I am very devoted to my business. Along with this blog I have created and host a  ”podcast”. www.kevzsandiegorealestateshow.com that has been a very exciting venture and I think you will all like it. The reason for doing a blog is simply because many people love the medium and the convienance it offers people who wish to contribute. I have been involved with a blog regarding Real Estate on MSN for over a year. The contributors along with myself had a very large and interesting debate with almost 1 million views and over 1,000 authors posting hundreds of pages of dialog.

Because I am a Realtor here in San Diego, we will typically discuss only Real Estate topics related to California and San Diego in particular. I am not an attorney or tax advisor. Any discussions regarding legal issues or tax consequences should be reviewed by qualified professionals. I do want to make this fun and informative,  I also have a habit of “GETTING VERY EXCITED”, meaning I don’t hesitate to use (all caps) or get ”punctuation happy” more often than I should. Please have patience, I am simply trying to make a point or show emotion. I look forward to providing the best and most talked about Real Estate Blog in San Diego.

Thank you..

  1. Question,

How do you recommend figuring out what the best price is for a home you are interested in buying? Do you have to rely on an agent, or can you do it yourself?

  2. Lilith, Hmmmmmmmm, interesting name..

With all the resources available on the internet, it is not uncommon at all for Buyers to at least begin their searches on their own. This is certainly true here in San Diego where almost 80% of all home searches begin online. There is much that you should and can do on your own. Reviewing area statistics on schools and crime etc. and even looking for places of worship and shopping or recreation can almost always be done online.

Ultimately you will need/want to have a qualified Realtor to help with the actual “home search” part. We have the resources and knowledge to help guide you through the process and help you find a home you will truly love.
